The tournament is to help children in their growth period develop a well-balanced physical form through Karate techniques and aims to improve their physical and mental strength fortitude appropriate to their age and skill level.

< Championship Tournament >

This tournament targets the age group (16 to 39 years old) when competitive athletes are at their peak physical fitness.

< Training and Performance Tournament>

This tournament caters to members who do not fall into the categories of the above two tournaments, such as general division members without Dan ranks in Kata, seniors, etc...

It does not solely pursue winning and losing in competition. Instead, it aims to develop the Joshinmon body and mind specifically for practicing Joshinmon Karate. The event flexibly sets up categories to accommodate various member groups based on kyu rank, Dan rank, and age.

A performance by the instructors is also scheduled to take place.

About Joshinmon Karatedo Shorinryu

"Traditional and Modern Karate-do Joshinmon" was founded in 1969 by the First Soke Ikeda Hoshu. It is based on the martial art style of Kiyan Chotoku from Okinawa, who was regarded as a great master of modern Shorin-ryu. Our Founder created the framework of the school, based on the idea of the two pillars of tradition and creativity, aiming for harmony of modern and traditional. This is where the breadth and depth of Joshinmon Karate lies, and we are proud to say that these are the values of our martial arts culture, that we should uphold.

Joshinmon's comprehensive philosophy was born based on meticulous research into traditional Japanese martial arts and various forms of karate, Chinese martial arts as well as Seitai medical methods.

The term "Traditional and Modern" is based on the idea of preserving the old ways and harmonizing them with the times, and it describes the dual role of tradition and creation. Therefore, to distinguish our school from other Shorinryu styles, it is called "Joshinmon Shoriryu," and its international organization is called the "International Joshinmon Shorinryu Karatedo Federation (i.e. I.J.S.K.F.).
